Saying Goodbye

In a conversation I had with my mother today,
she noted that some people say goodbye, others say good bye, and some say good-bye.

I wish we could agree on one saying so that we could say goodbye to the others.

I am a rather obscure 14th C. poet, whose work has been translated into over thirty dialects of gibberish. I now spend my days translating from the gibberish into English and back again, as need be.

  1. I agree on a common spelling. My old-fashioned upbringing won’t let me say, “See ya,” or “Gotta go.” Maybe “‘Bye” would be short and sweet. Probably texters don’t add anything–just keep their message short and quick with improv spelling. ‘Bye for now!
