Starting The New Year On The Right Foot

I don’t usually make New Year’s Resolutions, but things have been so difficult lately, what with my sock disappearing, that I had to do something.

What’s been going on can be summed up in two words: major chaos. Why, I turned my life upside down to search for my sock.

First, I tried calling for it by name: “Come here, Little Sock, come along now.” When that didn’t work out, I triple-checked the laundry room and took everything off the bed.

I was running out of places to look and then … an idea popped into my head. I decided to empty out my sock drawer.

In the process, I found it, a little rumpled, a little wrinkled, looking like it had just woken up. It wondered what all the fuss was about.

What a relief for its mate…as well as the entire sock community.

As for me, I feel grateful to be starting the New Year on the right foot.

  1. Welcome back to the fold (the folded laundry, that is), Oh, missing sock. Smart Sock that it is, with a Ph.D. logo, it probably was snuggling down in the drawer for winter hibernation.

  2. Okay Eva–you found your sock but I have yet to find my wrapping paper and Christmas cards and Kennedy ate the missing box of chocolates that I didn’t even know was missing and. . . . .hey, my bobble-head alligator pen and the. . . . .
