Playing the Numbers Game

I needed a new supply of oatmeal. I went to my neighborhood grocery store, which has a bulk section. Rolled oats, quick oats, quick rolled oats, and steel cut oats. After careful thought on the matter, I chose quick rolled oats. The container number was 1882, I told the cashier. He entered the number into his cash register and weighed the oats. Up came the price: $1.18.  I gave him a twenty. He handed me the change: $18.82.
