A Timely Purchase

I was at the farmers market and had selected a variety of produce, including celery, carrots, cucumbers, and strawberries. I brought the bags to the cashier. He added up the prices.

“$11.30,” he said.

I looked at my watch.

“Is it 11:30?” he asked.

“Almost.” I showed him my watch.

He said, “How about if I take off a nickel so the price and time match?”
