See Salt Riddle

Was I seeing things? I was at the store to buy butter. I prefer unsalted, so a label saying Unsalted in pretty blue script caught my eye.

Then I flipped the butter over to look at the nutrition label. I read the label with my left eye. My right eye caught sight of something else. Sea salt. Listed in the ingredients.

Wait a second. How could it be unsalted if it contained salt? According to the label, the butter contained 0% sodium, so perhaps I was seeing things. But as I picked up one rectangular block after another, each Unsalted listed sea salt.

I thought better about buying unsalted with salt butter and instead bought better-labeled butter.
