Emsch the Mensch

Bio: I am a rather obscure 14th C. poet, whose work has been translated into over thirty dialects of gibberish. I now spend my days translating from the gibberish into English and back again, as need be.

  1. Hello Ms. Eva,

I hope you are doing well. I’m not sure whether or not you are the same Eva Schiesinger who wrote the wonderful story “Eating the evidence,” from a recently published book by the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, Thanks to my mom. The story, however, touched my heart and soothed my soul in a very positive way.

    Best wishes,

  2. And thank you so much for writing back to me. My heart ached with sadness for the trouble of the goji berries and the banana you and your mothers found yourselves in with the agents in San Francisco International Airport coming from Hong Kong. But I was deeply impressed with your mother’s calmness and sense of humour. It seems from the story that she was a close friend of you more than your mother. Please convey my greetings to her if she still survives and tell her that someone across the globe is very proud of her. Mothering is not something perfect women do, it is something that makes women perfect.

    Take care,
    Hamza
