When I was seven, I had a friend who, when asked what is your favorite sandwich, would respond, “Peanut butter and jelly without the jelly.” With this in mind, I would like to tell you about my rainforest visit.
I love the rainforest for its biodiversity and have been fortunate to travel to rainforests in Ecuador and Costa Rica. I missed being there during the pandemic and though things have opened up, I have not resumed traveling the way I used to.
Luckily, I was able to travel somewhere similar. My attic. As I sat decluttering for hours at a time, sweating out my toxins in the heat and humidity, I felt like I was back in the rainforest. Minus the rain, the forest, the plants, and the animals. Occasionally, I did feel a prick of water here and there, so I looked toward the heavens. Thankfully, the roof was not leaking. The sensation was caused by my sweating.
